The Lost God

I met a God who was lost
In the wilderness he had created
He seemed to know the directions
But the roads had ceased to exist
In their place was an agony
Blurring the definitions of life
Wherever the God looked
Saw an emptiness of the mind
And the desire to maim and kill

The God wanted to walk away
Far from all that was created
The children had gone astray
They no more seeked the love
Slowly but steadily they hungered
For all the wealth and power
Forget the wind, forget the water
Forget the very God who gave life
All forsaken in the path of greed

So many of us in constant turmoil
So many lives lead without a cause
The lies and deceit that we paint
Everyday to feed our bloated egos
We shall not think of the God now
Orphaned by us in the hour of need
Would the God lament for our sins
Would there be an awakening ever
For somewhere, somehow we all need
That lost God who still cares for us.
