What an act you put on, O Goddess?
Shimmering like a golden ray of light
Catching us mere mortals, unawares
Life’s every mystic scene You unfold
Holds us in rapture, brings us to bliss
We have lost all sanity in adoring You
Like lost lambs, we graze in a reverie
Lost in the wilderness of Your illusion
How do You control us unbeknownst
Not even a flutter of suspicion arising
Never among Your plays of delirium
Yet without the Play, there is no joy
There is no purpose, there is no life
Without You, there is no existence
What is knowledge, if not madness
The madness in not knowing of You
Groping in the dark, hoping for You
Wishing for Your curious glance to
Fall upon the plight that we’re all in
O Enchantress, You can only smile
Beseeching us children to play on
Loving us and yet leaving us to fate
Do our tears ever make You stop?
Because in crying You see our Love
And You know, we’ve none but You
No one else to care for us but You
A thousand sunsets have we seen
Missing You each and every time
A thousand more shall pass us by
Yet our longing for You shan’t die
O Goddess...
